Cape Reinga Tours

Whatuwhiwhi TOP 10 Holiday Park is an ideal base for exploration of the far north – and no trip to Northland is complete without seeing the very top of New Zealand, Cape Reinga.

Cape Reinga is culturally and spiritually very significant for the Maori of New Zealand, and is known as Te Rerenga Wairua – the departing place of the spirits. Day trips to Cape Reinga on board the Dune Rider Coach, departing from Ancient Kauri Kingdom at Awanui and the Harrisons Cape Runner. Either can be arranged from our Office.

Your one day adventure, as well as taking you to the very sacred and absolutely breathtaking Cape Reinga (where the Pacific Ocean and Tasman Sea collide) will normally include many other activities and attractions. You may stop at the Ancient Kauri Kingdom and view ancient swamp Kauri and its world famous Kauri log staircase.

You’ll also drive up the Te Paki Quicksand stream, go tobogganing down massive sand dunes (wicked fun!) and marvel at huge 50,000 year old swamp kauri at the Ancient Kauri Kingdom. You’ll go for an exhilarating ride down magnificent 90 mile beach, maybe even stopping to dig for a fresh shellfish snack.

A tour to Cape Reinga is one not to be missed when you book your Northland campground accommodation with Whatuwhiwhi TOP 10 Holiday Park. We have additional information available at our office and are happy to book your group on any of these excellent adventures if you wish.
